Midwest Orthopedics
Grund & Riesterer Architects, Inc.
This project was completed in two phases. Phase one was the master planning of 10,000 square feet of space in an existing retail development on the north side of Chicago. The second phase was the development of 6,600 square feet that serves as an office for six doctors. This included ten exam rooms, two cast rooms, one x-ray bay and all required support spaces and offices. The master plan was developed to include physical therapy spaces that would be seamlessly added at some point in the future, without disruption to the present facility.

Full services were provided, including program development, schematic design, construction document preparation and construction administration. The scope of work included, but was not limited to, the following items:

  • Program development
  • Development and documentation of the master plan
  • Overall design of the office
  • Product specification
  • Interior design
  • Lighting design and specification
  • Coordination with structural and mechanical engineers
  • Furniture selection and coordination

Started January 2000, this project was completed within the originally proposed time frame of ten months.
Construction cost: $630,000.00
