1. Xref ( External Reference ) from model space into paper space
Method:
1. Create/ edit the drawing in AutoCad's model space for e.g. Flor-Plan.dwg at scale 1:1
2. Create a new drawing and click 'Layout' tab in AutoCad then click file - Page Setup - Plotter Configuration - Select plotter/ page size
(for e.g. "GP200 - Tabloid - Landscape.pc3" for 11 x 17 sheet)
3. X-ref the Title Sheet (#### - TITL.dwg) into paper sapce. Right Click on 'Layout' tab and go to Page Setup - Layout Settings- Window.
Now select the nodes of the insert block (located at bottom left and upper right corners).
#### - TITL denotes the project file number for eg. 0182-Titl for project 0182.00
4. Save this drawing as A101.dwg (example). Click 'Model' tab and X-ref the desired drawing (Flor-Plan.dwg) into Model Space.
5. Click 'Layout' tab from the bottom again to go back to Paper Space and type Mview to create a rectangular window.
6. Type ms in the AutoCad command window to view the drawing earlier imported in 'Model Space'. Scale the model space as desired.
(for e.g. 1/4" = 1')
7. Type ps in AutoCad command window to go back into paper scale.
8. Save the drawing again and print at scale 1:1.
Notes:
1. Always edit the drawings in model space.
2. Always plot from paper space at desired scale.
